HERE COMES THE BLACKBEARD : THE FIRST LOOK OF HUGH JACKMAN IN THE JOE WRIGHT'S 'PAN'

Entertainment weekly released the first look at Hugh Jackman as the pirate in Joe Wright’s Pan, although he is NOT Captain Hook, but rather Blackbeard.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Pictures has also released the first official character poster of Levi Miller in the title role. Check out the gallery linked at the bottom.

Wright (Anna Karenina, Hanna) has twisted the J.M. Barrie mythos so it is now Blackbeard captaining a flying ship which abducts wartime orphans, including Peter (Miller), while Captain Hook (Garrett Hedlund) is described as “a dashing Indiana Jones-like figure.”

“This isn't exactly the Neverland story you know,” says Wright.

 Offering a new take on the origin of the classic characters created by J.M. Barrie, Pan follows the story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny-to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.

The Warner Bros. fantasy stars Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Nonso Anozie, Amanda Seyfried, Rooney Mara, Adeel Akhtar and Levi Miller, and will be released on July 17, 2015.
